"Harp 2.0 Program,
We are underwater but were able to refinance with the Home Affordable Refinance Program. We owe more on our home than what it is worth. We owe $352,000 and our home is valued at about $257,000 but because we refinanced through the HARP 2.0 Program we are saving over $350 per month now. All because of the HARP 2.0 Program. We still owe more than what our home is worth. But now we at least have a light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to the HarpProgram.org! Thank god for the HARP 2.0 Program and specifically Reed D. Shump Sr. "

"I wanted to let other people know that the Home Affordable Refinance Program helped me and my family save money on our home mortgage recently. My wife and I had been trying to take advantage of today’s new low rates. The folks we made our payment to, I won’t mention any names, could not help us with the HARP 2.0 program. After looking around, we were able to find the help we needed and are now enjoying the lower payment on our home mortgage. We have mortgage insurance and previously this was a problem for us. However, due to the changes that were made recently by the mortgage insurance companies to work with the HARP program, we were able to get our HARP 2.0 loan approved and completed. If you have mortgage insurance and thought you couldn’t refinance to a lower rate, don’t give up! Check out the HARP 2.0 program and see if you can do it today. Even if you tried to check into the HARP 2.0 program last year in 2011 and were told that you didn’t qualify because of the mortgage insurance you have, try again! This has changed for a lot of people, including us! My family is now enjoying the benefits of a lower mortgage payment because of the HARP 2.0 program."

"I was surfing the net one day with no particular destination and I ran across the harpprogram.org website. Because my husband and I had been considering a refinance to lower our monthly bills, and we were underwater, I decided to fill out an application. I had heard from two of my co-workers that the Home Affordable Refinance Program had helped them refinance. One of them was in the process of a refinance with the HARP 2.0 program and the other one had just closed her loan, and she is now saving over 300 dollars per month! My husband was awfully weary about putting our personal information online, but I was hearing such great things I had to try it for myself. The day after I filled out an application I received a call from a preferred lender of the HARP 2.0 program. The man was very knowledgeable in the mortgage business and I was impressed. He educated me about where the HARP 2.0 program came from, what he expected from the HARP 2.0 program in the future and even some changes that the government made to the HARP 2.0 program just the day before. From there he gathered some information and gave me the payment that I qualified for before ever hanging up the phone. Again I was impressed. In my initial conversation my loan officer told me that the HARP 2.0 program was going to save me about 210 dollars a month, but by the time my loan closed, with the drop in interest rates, I was saving almost 270 dollars a month! I was ecstatic and so was my husband. The money we save every month is going to be very useful with our first child on the way. Thank You HARP 2.0 program!"

"The Federal Housing Finance Agency's mortgage refinancing plan is an important and overdue step in the right direction," said Chairman Johnson. "By making it easier for responsible homeowners to take advantage of today's low interest rates, the plan will help families across the country pay down their loans faster, help prevent foreclosures, and keep the housing market on a path to recovery. I'm pleased that FHFA is working to keep people in their homes while at the same time trying to reduce risk to the taxpayer."
-Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD), Chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee
